Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue.
A curated collection of wedding inspiration & ideas we've been loving and saving!
It’s been a month since my boyfriend of five years proposed during a weekend getaway in the mountains! To say we’re excited is an understatement—we stayed up past midnight that night, talking about all things wedding and the dreams we’ve been envisioning for some time. While marriage is about so much more than just the wedding day, we’re elated to celebrate this special chapter. As a wedding photographer, I’ve been dreaming of this moment for years, and I can’t wait for our big day!
Over the years, I’ve been collecting and curating inspiration and ideas, and it’s safe to say that deciding what I want for our wedding has been a no-brainer. Every decision we’re making is filled with thought and intention. Without giving too much away, I’m excited to share some of the things I’ve been eyeing and the ideas we’re planning to incorporate for our pre-wedding celebrations and wedding day.
Something Old: Having a touch of vintage adds a little charm. My sister and I are currently planning our upcoming engagement party, and we’ve been on a roll sourcing silverware that will make beautiful heirlooms. Another idea I’m inspired to include is personalizing gifts with embroidery. Many of my past bride clients have incorporated it into their celebrations, and I know for sure I’d love to have it for our day! Something New: A few ideas I’ve been considering include an unconventional guest book—specifically, the Capri Dolce Vita coffee table book by Cesare Cunaccia. Italy is a special place for both of us (Capri is also our cocker spaniel’s name!), and although we won’t be getting married there—surprise surprise—we’d love for this book to grace the welcome table. I’ve also been searching for a unique getting-ready outfit for the morning of our wedding day, and I absolutely love this silk satin set from Doen (Iona Short + Kira Top). And of course, I’ll 100% be buying myself some Maison Margiela Tabi Ballerina Flats for all the wedding events! Lastly, I’m absolutely swooning over this Teracotta Vase from Zara Home. Our florist picked it up for our engagement party, and we’re SO excited to see the magic Aidan from Things From Gardens creates!
Something Borrowed: After my grandma passed away a little over a year ago, my mom handed down some of her jewelry, which I’ll cherish forever. I plan to wear her golden hoop earrings throughout our wedding celebrations. I’ve also thought about framing a photo of her in blue, as she was my cousin's 'something blue' on her wedding day.
Something Blue: After a long and thoughtful search, we THINK we’ve found the venue of our dreams. Here’s a hint: we're planning a destination wedding! I’ll be sharing more once we start finalizing vendors, but for now, this little ocean photo will be our something blue.
